Conemaugh Physician Group – Cardiology Welcomes Dr. Jeffrey L. Dakas

Conemaugh Physician Group – Cardiology has welcomed Jeffrey L. Dakas, MD to its team. Dr. Dakas will provide outpatient care in Johnstown and Indiana, Pa., and throughout Conemaugh Health System. A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Dakas specializes in general cardiology and echocardiography.

A Belle Vernon native, Dr. Dakas graduated from Saint Vincent College and completed his medical education at Georgetown University. Dr. Dakas interned at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and completed his residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco. He also completed fellowships in cardiology at Marshall University and in electrophysiology at University of Louisville Hospital.

Dr. Dakas served in the U.S. Army as a General Medical Officer in West Germany and has provided cardiology services to active duty troops throughout his career at Patterson Army Community Hospital, Dewitt Army Hospital, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and Soto Cano Airbase in Honduras. He served veterans at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.V., and most recently at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Missouri. Dr. Dakas also practiced electrophysiology for 15 years at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
