Computer Tomography (CT)
Conemaugh's low-dose Computed Tomography scanner offers patients CT scans which are faster and may offer up to an 80% reduction in radiation.
Conemaugh Connect Electronic Medical Record System
Conemaugh Connect, powered by Epic, is Conemaugh Health System's electronic health record (EHR) system incorporating all acute, ambulatory, and revenue cycle programming. Epic out of Verona, Wisconsin, is leading edge in the field of electronic health record and healthcare information technology solutions. A critical component of one integrated system is the ability to provide access to patient information at point-of-care community practices with the goal of enhancing connectivity and continuity to patients served. Conemaugh Connect is not just a Management Information Systems project- it's an all-in, every-department-project! Hundreds of additional employees from across the Health System will be involved as project Subject Matter Experts, leads, super users, and eventually as certified trainers to provide input and offer support that will help shape Conemaugh's EHR system. There are many ways for employees to be involved with the Conemaugh Connect initiative!
da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery
The da Vinci system represents the latest in surgical and robotics technologies. Conemaugh surgeons have complete control of the da Vinci System at all times. da Vinci technology translates your surgeon's hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patients body. At Conemaugh, robotic-assisted surgery is offered for general, gynecology and urology.
Digital 3D Mammography
Conemaugh Breast Imaging offers Digital 3D Mammography, located at six of our sites, offers women excellent image quality while minimizing radiation dose.
Electrophysiology Laboratory
Conemaugh Health System has an Electrophysiology Laboratory for diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythm conditions. Procedures performed here include cardiac ablation, utilizing the new pulsed field ablation technique, cardiac rhythm device management (pacemakers, defibrillators), and left atrial appendage closures.
Fetal Echocardiography Lab
Conemaugh Health System offers the only Fetal Echocardiography Lab between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber
Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAO)
A Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) device is utilized for patients who have non-valvular atrial fibrillation who, for any number of reasons, cannot tolerate long term blood thinner usage. This procedure is completed in the Electrophysiology Lab (EP lab). The physician performing the procedure creates a small incision in the groin and places a tube that is used to guide our catheters and the LAAO device up to the heart. The LAAO device is fitted into left atrial appendage the of the heart, which is a small out-pouching off of the left atrium. This helps to prevent clots from forming in the appendage. In patients with atrial fibrillation, clots can form in the appendage and migrate, which can result in strokes. The LAAO device helps to prevent clots from leaving the left atrial appendage and potentially resulting in a stroke.
LINX
Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center offers the most comprehensive collection of vascular diagnostic procedures in the region. The Laboratory is accredited by the prestigious Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. This accreditation assures patients that the laboratory adheres to the highest standard of diagnostic testing performance. All images are digitally stored to assure high quality and easy reproducibility for comparison. Equipment is serviced regularly and upgraded annually to assure our patients best quality studies. Conemaugh's staff consists exclusively of Registered Vascular Technologists. With over a century of combined experience, the staff has the knowledge to assist physicians with making an accurate diagnosis. Conemaugh physicians are board certified in their specialty and are required to pass a vascular specific interpretation examination prior to being granted interpretation privileges in the department. Combined, Conemaugh physicians have over 100 years of interpretation experience.
Open MRI
Philips Hybrid Operating Room
Conemaugh Health System features Philips Hybrid OR with AlluraClarity. The operating room uses special green lighting to enhance vision, allowing surgeons to perform a full range of procedures using the latest in x-ray technology-which, provides high quality imaging with ultra-low radiation dose levels.
Robotic-Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery
Conemaugh Health System offers robotic-assisted total joint replacement surgery, which allows for customization to the unique shape and motion of the hip/knee. Orthopedic surgeons who are specially trained to use the system use it for total knee and hip replacement procedures transforming the way joint replacement surgery is performed.
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is a procedure used to treat patients with severe aortic valve stenosis. TAVR is utilized as an alternative, less invasive procedure for an aortic valve replacement rather than open heart surgery. This procedure is performed for patients who, for any number of reasons, may not be an ideal open heart surgery candidate, as determined by the patient’s care team. The TAVR procedure is completed by both an interventional cardiologist and a cardiothoracic surgeon in a hybrid operating room. The surgical team makes a small incision, most often in the groin, and inserts a tube that helps to guide our catheters, balloon and new heart valve up to the patient’s heart. The balloon is inflated and the TAVR valve is expanded over the diseased aortic valve. The TAVR valve begins working immediately, providing oxygenated blood flow to the rest of the body. This procedure provides elderly patients or those with multiple co-morbidities the option to have their aortic valve replaced without facing open heart surgery.
Tru-C Ultraviolet Disinfection Machine
Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center ensures patient safety by utilizing equipment to disinfect operating rooms. The Tru-C Ultraviolet Disinfection Machine is used weekly in all of Conemaugh Memorial's Class C operating rooms. The Tru-C Ultraviolet Disinfection Machine is a robot that is placed in the operating rooms to remove germs, pathogens, bacteria and viruses. This machine is best known for killing deadly pathogens and common infections such as Clostridium difficile (C. diff), Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), carbapenem- resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), and other bacteria that could compromise a patient's outcome.
