Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Announces Promotion of Daniel Rager to Medical/Surgical Nursing Director

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center has announced the promotion of Daniel Rager, RN, BSN, MHA, CPPS to Medical/Surgical Nursing Director effective immediately. Rager has served as the Interim Medical/Surgical Nursing Director since August of 2021, where he oversees the Nursing Resource Team, Float Team, Ashman 7, Rose 7, and bed placement teams.
Rager began his career as a registered nurse at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in 2005 working in the Emergency Department. He was promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing in 2011 where he worked for 10 years. For the past three years, he has served as the chairman of the nursing peer review committee and he currently chairs the clinical staffing committee. Rager actively participates in medical peer review and patient safety committees at the hospital and represents clinical operations on the hospital’s COVID-19 response team.
A 2005 graduate of the Conemaugh School of Nursing, Rager earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Mount Aloysius in 2011 and completed his Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Ohio University in 2016. He also participated in the Cambria Regional Chamber’s John B. Gunter Community Leadership Initiative, a development program that trains the next generations of leaders serving the greater Johnstown area. Rager is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
A native of Vinco and graduate of Central Cambria High School, Rager is actively engaged in the local community and serves as a coach of the YPCC youth basketball league.
