Conemaugh Health System celebrates Donate Life Month with annual Donor Wall Recognition Ceremony
April 17, 2025

Conemaugh Health System proudly hosted its annual Donor Wall Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the Atrium of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. The heartfelt event honored the lives and legacies of 13 selfless individuals who gave the gift of life through organ, tissue, and cornea donation.
More than 100 family members and friends gathered to pay tribute to their loved ones, whose names were newly added to the hospital’s Donor Wall. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the impact one person can make—offering hope and healing to those in need through donation.
“We are deeply honored to recognize these remarkable individuals and their families,” said Kris O’Shea, Chief Nursing Officer at Conemaugh Health System. “Their courage and compassion continue to inspire us every day, and their gifts have saved and transformed countless lives.”
The ceremony included remarks from hospital leadership and representatives from the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE). Pam Watt, Market Director of Cardiovascular Services, graciously shared her experiences with organ donation, sharing the loving story of her father who made the selfless decision of becoming an organ donor and the story of her one-year-old niece who was the recipient of a lifesaving organ just a few months ago.
Attendees were invited to view the Donor Wall and share memories of their loved ones.
The Donor Wall, located on the third floor of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center outside the Cardiovascular and Surgical Care Pavilion, stands as a lasting tribute to the donors whose selfless decisions have brought light in moments of great loss. Each name and photo represent a powerful story of generosity, love, and legacy.
Conemaugh Health System remains committed to raising awareness about organ, tissue, and cornea donation and encourages community members to register as donors during National Donate Life Month and beyond.
