Conemaugh Nason Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Achieves National Accreditation
August 28, 2025

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is proud to announce that its Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has been nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This recognition highlights Conemaugh Nason’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that improves the health and quality of life for individuals recovering from heart disease and surgery.
Cardiac rehabilitation programs support patients with conditions such as heart attacks, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and other cardiovascular challenges. Through structured exercise, education, counseling, and ongoing support, these programs empower patients and their families to achieve better outcomes and healthier futures.
“We are extremely proud to earn this certification through the AACVPR,” said Michelle Buttry, Chief Operating Officer of Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. “Our exceptional cardiac rehabilitation team goes above and beyond every day to support our patients in their recovery and long-term health. This achievement reflects their dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence.”
Earning AACVPR certification requires a rigorous application process with detailed documentation of program practices. As the only peer-reviewed accreditation process of its kind, AACVPR Program Certification evaluates individual rehabilitation programs for compliance with nationally recognized standards and guidelines. Applications undergo review by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee, with final approval granted by the AACVPR Board of Directors.
In 2018, AACVPR transitioned to an outcomes-based certification process, focusing on meaningful performance measurements that demonstrate improved patient results. Certified programs are recognized as national leaders in cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, offering advanced, evidence-based practices with proven records of success. Conemaugh Nason’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program will remain accredited through 2028.
