Conemaugh Health System Names Nate DeFanti as Chief Information Officer

Conemaugh Health System today named Nate DeFanti, MBA, MPA, as Chief Information Officer. DeFanti will oversee system-wide strategy related to information systems and technology. DeFanti will also oversee Epic applications for Lifepoint Health as the tools are delivered to facilities outside of Conemaugh Health System.
DeFanti most recently served as Vice President of Applications at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) where he oversaw the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of more than 75 clinical, ancillary, and revenue-cycle applications in support of the health system’s physician practices, hospital, and ancillary locations. In this role, he helped to establish a robust Electronic Health Record across 13 hospitals and 500 ambulatory locations, providing AHN with a robust platform to enhance the clinician and patient experience through innovation and optimization.
Prior to joining AHN in 2013, he held various roles of increasing responsibility in information technology at UPMC. He has also previously served as a consultant at Deloitte Consulting and Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young.
DeFanti earned his bachelor’s degree in health sciences and his master’s degree as a Physician Assistant at Duquesne University. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Pittsburgh. As a Physician Assistant, he specialized in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Behavioral Health at West Penn Comprehensive Health Care for five years.
