Conemaugh Physician Group welcomes Mohammed Islam, MD, oncologist/hematologist, to the Conemaugh Cancer Care Center

Conemaugh Physician Group is pleased to welcome Mohammed F. Islam, MD, a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist, to its team of specialist at the Conemaugh Cancer Center. Dr. Islam brings more than two decades of experience caring for patients with cancer and blood disorders, as well as a strong background in clinical research, medical education and patient-centered care.

Dr. Islam earned his medical degree from Dhaka Medical College at Dhaka University in Bangladesh and completed advanced training in pathology. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh before pursuing a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology, Dr. Islam has served as an attending physician in hematology and oncology at AHN Medical Center Clinic since 2001. Throughout his career, he has treated a wide range of cancers and blood disorders while remaining committed to advancing cancer care through research, education and the use of evolving treatment approaches.

Dr. Islam has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and research presentations in oncology and hematology. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Medical Association.

As part of Conemaugh Physician Group, Dr. Islam will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients with cancer and blood disorders. His addition to the Conemaugh Cancer Center team will help expand access to specialized oncology and hematology care for patients throughout the region.
