Michael Galuska, MD, FACEP, named Alumni of the Year by Emergency Medicine Resident Association

Conemaugh Health System is proud to share that Michael Galuska, MD, FACEP, Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, has been named the 2026 recipient of the prestigious Joseph F. Waeckerle, MD, FACEP, Alumni of the Year Award by the Emergency Medicine Residents' Association (EMRA). 

This national honor recognizes EMRA alumni whose continued leadership, mentorship, and contributions have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the field of emergency medicine and the EMRA community. Dr. Galuska’s dedication to advancing patient care, fostering resident education, and shaping the next generation of emergency physicians has distinguished him as a leader among his peers. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Galuska has remained deeply committed to medical education, serving as a mentor and role model for residents and medical students. His passion for teaching and his investment in the success of learners have helped strengthen Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program and the broader emergency medicine community.
