Conemaugh Nason Medical Center proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement by George Cummings, DO, who recently completed his 500th robotic-assisted surgery. The milestone procedure was a robotic-assisted laparoscopic hernia repair.

Dr. Cummings began performing robotic-assisted surgeries at Conemaugh Nason in March 2023 and reached this extraordinary milestone in just 2.5 years, a testament to both his skill and the hospital’s commitment to advancing surgical care in the community. He performs a wide range of minimally invasive robotic-assisted procedures, including laparoscopic inguinal and ventral hernia repairs, cholecystectomies (gallbladder removals), and colon surgeries.

“This milestone reflects how far we’ve come in providing high-quality, advanced surgical care right here in our community of Roaring Spring,” said Dr. Cummings. “Reaching 500 robotic-assisted surgeries is not just a personal achievement, it’s a powerful example of what’s possible when technology, teamwork, and patient care come together.
