Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center proudly announces that Executive Chef Blake Eckenrod has been crowned the SuperChef 2025 Champion following a competitive national culinary event hosted by Hospital Housekeeping Systems (HHS).

The annual SuperChef competition brings together chefs from across the country to showcase creativity, innovation, and culinary expertise. Chef Blake’s winning menu featured Tuna Tataki with creamy sweet chili sauce and gochujang & sesame-grilled pork tenderloin served over brûléed sweet potato with spicy pickled cabbage and three complementary sauces.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Academy of Culinary Arts, Chef Blake has trained in a variety of professional kitchens and now applies his skills at Conemaugh Memorial, where he combines classical technique with modern creativity. His menus are designed to deliver both exceptional flavor and nutrition, supporting the health and healing of patients, visitors, and staff.

“Chef Blake’s achievement is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the passion, dedication, and skill he brings to our hospital every day,” said Rodney Reider, CEO. “This recognition not only celebrates his individual talent but also highlights the vital role of nutrition in health and healing. At Conemaugh, we believe food is an essential part of care, and Chef Blake exemplifies how culinary excellence can truly make a difference in the lives of our patients, staff, and community. We are incredibly proud of him and thrilled that his talents are being recognized on a national stage.”

The SuperChef competition also recognized the creativity and craftsmanship of all finalists, making this year’s event a true celebration of culinary excellence.

Chef Blake will represent Conemaugh Health System at the 2025 Chef Auction, hosted by Pennsylvania Highlands Community College on October 22.
