Critical Care Team at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Featured in New Public Service Announcement

September 17, 2021

Conemaugh Health System has unveiled a new public service announcement (PSA) urging the community to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Featuring 22 members of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Critical Care team – physicians, residents, nurses, nurse assistants, therapists, and pathologists – the PSA implores the unvaccinated to help prevent another surge of COVID-19 hospitalizations by getting vaccinated.

“COVID-19 and the Delta variant continue to spread rapidly across the region and our community remains extremely vulnerable,” said Talha Mehmood, MD, Critical Care physician. “The best way to mitigate spread of the virus and keep our friends, neighbors, and loved ones safe is through vaccination, masking, and social distancing. We are always here for you when you need us, but we are not superheroes. As a team, we have grieved and mourned more over the past 18 months than we could have ever imagined. We need you to get vaccinated today because this is preventable now – that is the one request and message we have for our community.”

Conemaugh Health System recently introduced a PSA featuring 13 physicians explaining the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.
