Pelvic Floor Therapist

Amarisa Miles, MOT, OTR/L, CLT, PCES, specializes in urogynecology and pelvic floor rehabilitation at Conemaugh East Hills Outpatient Center in Johnstown, PA. An experienced therapist who has a passion for supporting all aspects of pelvic health, Amarisa is here to support your healing journey.

Amarisa received both her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Health Sciences and Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Saint Francis University. Upon completion of her coursework and clinical rotations, Amarisa pursued further education through the Herman & Wallace National Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Institute where she earned certification of Visceral Mobilization of Urinary Fascia, Visceral Mobilization of Reproductive Fascia, and Oncology of the Pelvic Floor: Male Pelvic and Colorectal Cancers.

In addition, Amarisa holds her Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES) Certification and additional Advanced Pelvic Floor training from the Institute of Advanced Musculoskeletal Treatments. she also completed intensive training becoming a Certified Lymphedema Therapist through the Academy of Lymphatic Sciences.

Amarisa's passion for pelvic floor rehabilitation stems from her belief in which everyone is entitled to be pain-free and comfortable in all aspects of living. Her immense understanding of the effects of pelvic floor dysfunction on emotional, mental, and personal function allows her to have a holistic and empathetic approach grounded in evidence-based knowledge. 


Treatment

At Conemaugh Rehabilitation, our specially trained therapists offer non-surgical pelvic flood rehabilitation to help restore function and improve overall quality of life. Treatment may include:

  • Exercises to strengthen the core pelvic muscles
  • Biofeedback to help patients control muscles
  • Electrical stimulation to help relieve pain and strengthen muscles
  • Education on lifestyle modifications that may help prevent bladder control issues
