Safety is a priority at Conemaugh Health System. Sophisticated measures are in place to ensure security for mom and newborn. The Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Maternity Care Suites, Labor & Delivery Suites, Newborn Nursery, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are all locked, secured areas. These areas are all visually monitored by department staff and the Security Department. 

Mom, Dad / significant other, and newborn are given a set of identification bracelets that must always be worn when in the Maternity Department. Your newborn will have a small, computerized security sensor placed on his / her ankle that is monitored by our wireless Infant Security System.
