11.20 COVID-19 Update from Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center

November 24, 2020

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center (“Memorial”) has established a regular update by Dr. Elizabeth Dunmore – Chief Medical Officer, to share information with the public related to COVID-19 including the status of hospital operations and the safety measures being taken to protect our patients, staff and community. These updates are delivered every two weeks by Dr. Dunmore and are available on the hospital’s social media channel and website.

As of 11.20.2020:

As reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, cases of COVID-19 increased in Cambria County through November, and with the documented increase in confirmed positive cases, hospitals in our region, including ours, have seen an expected increase in hospitalizations. Currently, Memorial is treating more than 50 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in our hospital. This number can change rapidly. At this time, our hospital has adequate capacity and staffing to meet patient needs, including in critical care/intensive care.

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center continues to take all the necessary precautions to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19, including limiting entry points to the facility, screening all individuals for symptoms of COVID-19, universal masking and maintaining a strict zero-visitation protocol.

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center reminds the public to do their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by practicing social distancing and proper hand hygiene, and wearing a mask or face covering while in public.
