Enhanced Supportive Care Clinic
Conemaugh Physician Group’s Enhanced Supportive Care Clinic (ESCC) is dedicated to providing patient and family-centered care to those who are dealing with serious life-limiting illnesses. This clinic is for all adult patients of any age, regardless of their stage of a serious illness. Our Palliative Care team focuses on the whole person, while aiding in assistance with the following;
- Managing complex symptoms (pain, shortness of breath, nausea, anxiety, etc.)
- Providing education about disease processes, along with treatment options, and medications.
- Assisting in navigating a complicated healthcare system with an extra layer of support.
- Offering social/psychosocial support as we assist patients, and families on their journey.
- Managing physical/physiological challenges.
- Coordination of care with a patient’s primary and specialty providers to ensure the best possible care is being given.
The ESCC is supported by Palliative Nurse Navigator, Briana Bishop, RN, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jamie Mack. We provide clinical coordination and connect patients and their families with helpful resources needed to support them.
This multi-disciplinary clinic, under the direction of Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Palliative Care Physician, Monika Kusuma Pringle, MD, as well as Palliative-Certified Nurse Practitioner, Joshua Rosman, will focus on providing symptom management, symptom relief, and support to enhance patients' overall quality of life. The ESCC is not just for patients who are dealing with cancer, but those also dealing with any chronic conditions that impact their everyday life (heart, lung, kidney, neurological illness) that need ongoing care and support.
This unique clinic offers a variety of options for our patients, including in-person visits, telehealth visits, as well as telephonic support.
