Date & Time Workshop Description
Monday, October 4 at 1pm Let's Care for the Caregiver

This workshop will focus on learning to care for yourself while caring for a loved one who has been diagnosed with cancer.  All too often, caregivers tend to isolate and feel guilty when they do things for themselves.  Their own stress, fear, and health are often overlooked. We will focus on allowing yourself, the caregiver, to do things that make you feel good so that you have the opportunity to feel positive and renewed.
Presenter: Debbie Ianarelli, RN, BSN, OCN

Art as Self-Care

Practicing self-care as part of your cancer journey can help you feel refreshed, present, recharged, and relaxed. This workshop will focus on art as self-care.  Studies show that the levels of cortisol, a stress-related hormone, drops significantly when we spend time making art.  Engaging in arts and crafts can help reduce stress and anxiety.  It can also give us the opportunity to connect to others.  Participants will be creating decoupage mason jars---perfect for any artist from beginner to expert!
