Conemaugh Physician Group – Critical Care is pleased to welcome board-certified surgical critical care physician Tracy Evans, MD to its team. Dr. Evans will provide care for patients admitted to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s intensive care and cardiac care units.
Dr. Evans chose her career in critical care after initially providing locum tenens coverage across the country. “While I was helping other hospitals to provide physician coverage, I fell in love with the critical care environment. I’m devoted to making very complicated and challenging times for patients and their families as tolerable and endurable as possible. I treat each patient as if they were my own family member,” said Dr. Evans. In addition to providing care to the patient, Dr. Evans keeps open lines of communication with family members to ensure they have all of their questions answered and fears eased.
Dr. Evans chose Conemaugh from her experience as a locum tenens physician at the facility. “I really love the patient population in Johnstown,” said Dr. Evans. “The patients and their families are very grateful for the care they’ve received.” Dr. Evans is also happy to join a strong nursing and physician team who are “dedicated to doing what’s right for the patient”, she notes. “There’s a small town feeling here. Residents here take care of each other and their community.”
Dr. Evans earned her medical degree at New York University School of Medicine. She completed a surgical internship and a surgical residency both at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn, New York. She also completed a trauma / critical care fellowship at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. She recently earned her Executive Healthcare Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.
