Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center welcomes ophthalmologist Tim Arlow, MD, PhD to its medical staff. Dr. Arlow will be providing care to patients at Ophthalmic Associates Group, 120 Main Street, Johnstown.
Dr. Arlow is eager to start treating patients in local communities, and providing surgery options for patients experiencing vision issues. “There is amazing technology in the ophthalmic field,” he says. “We see great outcomes and patients are happy with the improvement in their quality of life.”
He will perform surgeries including refractive surgery, glaucoma surgery, and some plastic surgery. The most rewarding, though, is performing cataract surgery for patients. “After surgery, patients can see colors and light and have enhanced vision from what they were experiencing. It reinvigorates them to do activities they might have lost the ability to do because of their cataracts.”
Dr. Arlow earned his bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy, Molecular Biology degree from Princeton University, New Jersey, and his medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Arlow is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology.
