Family Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth (Betsy) Kline, is excited to now be seeing pain and neurology patients at Conemaugh Physician Group Neurology.
“When I first came to interview at Conemaugh, I was struck by the level of caring, professionalism and respect for patients that this group offered,” says Kline. “These qualities are very important to me. I am excited about working with this group of professionals because I know we can truly help our patients.”
A Family Nurse Practitioner since 1990, Kline has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, and a master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois in Chicago.
“I love this field of medicine,” says Kline. “It allows me to help patients and their loved ones attain better physical and mental health and obtain an optimal quality of life.”
Kline is particularly excited about the Chronic Pain Support Group that Conemaugh offers monthly. “Support groups are a great way to motivate the healthcare team, patients and family members to help themselves and others,” she says. “The topics lined up for 2015 are creative and fun including the benefits of exercise and good sleep patterns, medication safety and therapeutic touch and aromatherapy for pain management. I value patient teaching and empowerment as ways to help patients manage their chronic pain.”
Prior to coming to Conemaugh, Kline worked as a nurse practitioner at Central PA Pain Management in Tyrone and Altoona. She also worked in Behavioral Health for Sunpoint Health in State College and at Altoona Hospital and served as a clinical nursing instructor for first year nursing students at Penn State University’s Altoona Campus.
Kline will be seeing patients with chronic pain and neurological conditions at the Conemaugh East Hills location at 1450 Scalp Avenue in Richland. To learn more or to schedule an appointment, patients may call 814-269-5211.
