Conemaugh Health System Aspiring Leader Graduates and New Class

October 25, 2016

Conemaugh Health System recently selected eleven employees to participate in its in-house Aspiring Leader Program (ALP), after graduating eight from the class of 2016.  The Aspiring Leader Program is one component of the talent development strategy of Conemaugh Health System. This program is designed to provide additional education and experience for employees who aspire to grow into leadership roles within the organization.

Joan Colbert, Manager of Organizational Development, stated “The ALP is providing a process to identify high potential staff who are then placed in a leadership track where they can grow and develop as future Conemaugh leaders.  Effective leaders are essential to providing continuous quality and service to our patients, employees and community.”

The Aspiring Leader Program includes formal classroom training, job shadow experiences with organizational leaders, field experiences within the organization, team projects and mentoring. These opportunities create an environment for networking, as well as increased understanding of the functions of each entity, division and department within Conemaugh Health System.
