Conemaugh Health System

 William E. Caldwell - Market President, Conemaugh Health System
        Chief Executive Officer - Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center

 Bill Caldwell became Market President for the Conemaugh Health System in September of 2018. He also serves as Chief Executive   Officer for Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

 Prior to joining the Conemaugh health System he was the CEO of Wilson Medical Center, A Duke Lifepoint  Hospital, in Wilson, North   Carolina. Prior to joining Wilson Medical Center he was Chief Operating Officer  for Lewis Gale Medical Center located in Salem,   Virginia. 

 He started his healthcare career at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell, Virginia. He has held numerous leadership roles in healthcare including Chief Operating Officer at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital and Chief Executive Officer at The Retreat Hospital, both in Richmond, Virginia. He also served as HCA’s Vice President for Physician Services in Southwest Virginia and was also the Chief Operating Officer for Lewis Gale Medical Center, located in Salem Virginia.

Bill is currently serving on several local Boards of Directors including the Cambria Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI), and the Health Care Council of Western Pennsylvania.

Bill is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He served as the ACHE Regent for Virginia from 2006 through 2009.

Bill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.  He also earned a Master’s Degree in Health Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Finance from The Ohio State University. 


 Joseph Dado, MBA - Chief Information Officer 

Joseph Dado serves as Chief Information Officer of Conemaugh Health System. He is responsible for directing a system-wide strategy relative to information systems and technology, as well as researching, creating a vision and implementation plan for information technology across Conemaugh Health System.

Mr. Dado joined Conemaugh Health System in 2005. He previously served as Chief Information Officer for Excela Health System, Chief Information Officer for Latrobe Area Hospital, and Vice President of Information Systems for Butler Health System. He also served as manager with Arthur Anderson Consulting (Accenture).

A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, he also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Katz School at the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Dado is a member of the Hospital Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).


 David Paulosky - Chief Financial Officer

David Paulosky joined Conemaugh Health System in 2018 as Market Chief Financial Officer. With 30  years of Health Care experience in which 15 years were with for profit health systems. Prior to joining Conemaugh Health System leadership team Paulosky served as the Chief Financial Officer for Phoenixville Hospital, Senior Vice President  Chief Financial Officer for Bayonne Medical Center and Director of Regional Finance for Universal Health Services. Three of those years were spent working with a private equity group on developing a health system in the northern New Jersey market.

Native of Pennsylvania, Paulosky holds an undergraduate degree B.S in Accounting From King’s College, Master of  Business administration from Thomas Jefferson University East Falls and CPA certification.   


Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center

 Tony Campagna - Vice President, Ancillary and Post Acute Services 

Anthony (Tony) Campagna currently serves as Vice President, Ancillary, Post Acute and Support Services at Conemaugh Health System. 

Mr. Campagna has been an employee of the Conemaugh Health System since 1981 where he began as the hospital’s microbiologist, eventually becoming the Director of Laboratory Services in 1988.  He was named Executive Director of Diagnostic Services in 2008 at which time his responsibilities included the oversight of the ancillary departments (laboratory, imaging and emergency medicine).  In January 2015, Mr. Campagna was appointed Vice President, Ancillary and Post Acute Services and in 2018 he took on responsibility for the Support Services Division as well.

Mr. Campagna is also responsible for leading the organization’s Lean Six Sigma journey and has previously served as a Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) examiner.

Mr. Campagna received his Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Biology in 1981 from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, his Medical Technology certification from Conemaugh’s Memorial Medical Center in 1982, and his Masters Degree in Business Administration from St. Francis University.

Mr. Campagna is Board Certified, Medical Technology (1983) and Board Certified, Specialist in Microbiology (1988), both from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.  He has been a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists since 1983.  He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.


 Linda Fanale - Chief Financial Officer 

Linda Fanale serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.  She has been with Conemaugh since 2013.  Linda has 25 plus years of healthcare financial leadership experience, serving previously as Chief Financial Officer at Windber Medical Center and Windber Research Institute.

Mrs. Fanale is responsible for Financial Operations at Memorial Medical Center, with the Financial Operations Department for both the Hospital and Physician Division reporting directly to her, as well as Decision Support, HIM, Coding, and Physician Office Billing.

Mrs. Fanale is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) as well as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), and a Fellow of HFMA (FHFMA).

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she also holds a Master of Business Administration from The Katz School of the University of Pittsburgh.

Linda is a member of the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania and their Value-Based Payment Advisory Group, the Hospital Financial Managers Association and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.


 Jelden Arcilla, MBA, BSN - Chief Nursing Officer

Jelden Arcilla, MBA, BSN, Chief Nursing Officer, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, a 537-bed hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Unit, Level 3 Regional Intensive Care Nursery and staff of approximately 1,120 nurses and allied health professionals.

Responsible for maintaining and advancing clinical and patient standards of care, introducing new nursing strategies, organizing and directing the operation of nursing services, staff development and retention, and nursing budget development and management.

Jelden Arcilla, originally from Pennsylvania, joined Conemaugh from Phoenix, Arizona where he served most recently as the VP of Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at HonorHealth in Phoenix, a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching hospital. Jelden has experience in a variety of hospital settings from rural/critical access hospitals to large tertiary hospitals and health systems. Over his career, Jelden has led various expansions, operationalized new service lines, and integrated facilities while delivering exceptional patient care. Jelden also served as a combat infantry medic in the United States Army.   

He received his Master of Business Administration from Western Governor’s University in Salt Lake City, Utah and his Bachelor of Science - Nursing at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. 


Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center

 Heather J Smith, MBA, CHFP, CPPS - Chief Executive Officer

Heather became the Chief Executive Officer of Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center in November 2014.

Ms. Smith joined the Conemaugh Health System in 2000.  Prior to becoming CEO, she was member of the hospital’s administration team and held the positions of Director of Finance and Director of Support Services with leadership oversight of the non-clinical departments and three rural health clinics.

Ms. Smith graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. She obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from Liberty University.  She worked locally with a CPA firm as an accountant and auditor before joining Conemaugh.

She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association.  She is also a member of The Joint Commission Critical Access Hospital Advisory Board Council and the Hospital and Health System of Pennsylvania Council of Rural Hospitals.

In her community, she is a member of the Meyersdale Area Schools Education Foundation and Somerset Rotary Club.


 Pamela Swansboro, MS, RN - Chief Nursing Officer

Pam Swansboro joined the Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center in January 2019 as Chief Nursing Officer. She has served in the Conemaugh Health System since 2006 bringing with her more than         23-years of nursing and administrative experience. Swansboro served as the Director of Nursing at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center from 2006 to 2019. Prior to joining the Conemaugh Health System team, Swansboro was a nurse educator/employee health nurse in a LTAC facility, and a supervisor then director for a community hospital.

A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Swansboro holds a BSN from Edinboro State College and a Master Degree in Nursing Administration from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Swansboro is an appointed member of the PA Governor’s Office for the Organ Donation Advisory Committee. She serves on local advisory boards for high schools, career and technology centers, and local universities to promote and recruit future healthcare workers.


Conemaugh Miners Medical Center

 Timothy Harclerode, RN, MBA, FACHE - Chief Executive Officer

Tim Harclerode joined Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in February 2016.

A native of West Virginia, Mr. Harclerode began his healthcare career as a medic in the U.S. Army. He then went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration, both from West Virginia University. Harclerode is also a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mr. Harclerode has been with LifePoint Health for eleven years in progressive leadership roles. As CEO, Harclerode provides oversight of all clinical and support departments as well as the hospital’s quality initiatives, construction and renovation, strategic planning and capital improvements.

Mr. Harclerode is an active member of the Morrisons Cove Rotary organization and the Blair, Bedford, and Cambria County Chambers of Commerce.


 Jessica Svidergol-Peterman, MSN, RN, CCCC - Chief Nursing Officer

Jessica Svidergol-Peterman, MSN, RN, CCCC, serves as the Chief Nursing Officer for Conemaugh Miners Medical Center.  Jessica has worked for Conemaugh Health System since 2006.  She began her career working as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center until she began at Conemaugh Miners in 2015.  Jessica also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. A native of Cambria County, Jessica obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Jessica actively volunteers in her community as well as serves on multiple Nursing Advisory Boards. 


Conemaugh Nason Medical Center

 Timothy Harclerode, RN, MBA, FACHE - Chief Executive Officer

Tim Harclerode joined Conemaugh Miners Medical Center as CEO in October 2016.

A native of West Virginia, Mr. Harclerode began his healthcare career as a medic in the U.S. Army.  Michelle Buttry, RN - Chief Nursing Officer

Michelle Buttry, MHA, RN, BSN, CPPS was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in 2015.  Buttry is in her 27th year at Nason, starting in 1993 as a Nurse Manager and Infection Control Professional.  She began her nursing career at the National Institute of Health, Public Health Service in Bethesda, Maryland, before moving into a primary care nurse role in the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant unit at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.  Michelle then worked as a staff nurse in the Intensive & Coronary Care units at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center before beginning her management career at Nason.

A native of Southern Bedford County, Michelle is a graduate of West Virginia University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master of Health Care Administration from the University of Ohio. Michelle is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety, CPPS.


 Kim Semelsberger - Chief Financial Officer

Kimberly Semelsberger joined Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in 2015 as the Chief Financial Officer.  She has 29 years’ experience in healthcare finance and administration.  Prior to joining Conemaugh Nason’s leadership team, she was the Vice President of Financial Performance for Conemaugh Health System.

A native of Western Pennsylvania, Semelsberger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Francis University.

Semelsberger holds a Certified Public Accountant certification and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety, CPPS.


Conemaugh Physician Group

 Nicolene Kushner - President

Nicolene (Nikki) is the President for Conemaugh Physician Practices, LLC d/b/a Conemaugh Physician Group (CPG) and has been in this position since July 2016.   She started her career in 1994 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center holding various finance roles until moving over to the Physician Organization in 2008.   Nikki has worked in the healthcare as well as the Conemaugh Health System for over 27 years. 

Nikki is from the local area, graduated from St. Francis College, Loretto, Pa., with a bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix.  Nikki is also a member of the Medical Group Management Associations and a Board Member of The Learning Lamp.
