The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) announced that Crichton Rehabilitation Center has once again been accredited for a period of three years for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs – Hospital (Adults) and Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs – Hospital (Children and Adolescents). The latest accreditation is the fourth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation outcome that the international accrediting commission has awarded to the Crichton Rehabilitation Center.
This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.
Crichton Rehabilitation Center is a nonprofit organization located on the Lee Campus of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, at 320 Main Street, Johnstown. Crichton has been providing Inpatient Rehabilitation Services in the Tri-County Area since opening its doors in July 1996.
“We are very excited to receive this Three-Year Accreditation outcome for the fourth consecutive time,” says Teresa Hoffman, Director of Rehabilitation Services Division and Administrator of Crichton Rehabilitation Center. “It offers our patients peace of mind knowing that for the past 12 years our services have been of the highest quality and are closely reviewed; we look forward to providing this same excellent service to our patients in years to come.”
CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
