For the eighth consecutive year, National Research Corporation (NRC) has named Memorial Medical Center as a Consumer Choice Award recipient for 2009/2010. Of the more than 3,200 facilities named by consumers in the NRC Healthcare Market Guide Ticker study, the award identifies Memorial as one of 280 across the country and one of just 10 in Pennsylvania that healthcare consumers recognize as having the highest quality and image.
“While it’s always an honor to receive recognition, it’s particularly special when it comes from our community members and patients,” says Steve Tucker, President, Memorial Medical Center. “The fact that the community acknowledges the high quality care that our physicians, nurses and staff strive to achieve on a day-to-day basis just reinforces why we’re here, and that’s to provide excellence, every patient, every time.”
The results are based on the 2009/2010 NRC Healthcare Market Guide Ticker study, the largest and most comprehensive study of its kind, which surveyed more than 250,000 households representing 450,000 consumers across the United States.
“Healthcare has become an increasingly important issue across the country and empowered consumers are making decisions for themselves and their families when selecting their healthcare facilities and services,” said Ginny Martin, President of NRC’s Ticker Division. “As care options multiply and financial challenges remain strong, consumer perception of quality continues to grow in importance. Dedication to providing high quality healthcare has become essential for all hospitals. In the face of adversity, these Consumer Choice award winners exemplify the dedication it takes to provide quality healthcare to their communities, and we are pleased to honor them through the eyes of their patients.”
This is the fourteenth year the NRC has awarded the Consumer Choice awards. The recipients of this year’s recognition will be named in the national publication, Modern Healthcare magazine.
National Research Corporation has specialized in healthcare performance measurement for more than 25 years.
