The Heart/Stroke Recognition Program was designed to improve care for individuals with cardiovascular disease or those who have suffered a stroke, in an effort to prevent further complications or recurrence. In order to receive the recognition, which is valid for three years, physicians must submit data demonstrating high performance relating to Cardiovascular and Stroke core measures including blood pressure and cholesterol control.
“This latest achievement is just one more testament to the high quality physicians we have in this area,” says Dr. David Carlson, Chief Medical Officer, Conemaugh Health System. “On behalf of Conemaugh Health System, we’re grateful and proud to have physicians of this caliber affiliated with our System, who share in our vision of ‘Excellence. Every Patient. Every Time.’”
The NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes physicians in key clinical areas. To learn more about the Heart/Stroke Recognition Program, log on to www.ncqa.org.
