Scott Becker, Conemaugh Health System Chief Executive Officer, welcomed local student philanthropists to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Main Campus for a annual luncheon and facility tour including Conemaugh Memorial’s Cancer Care Center.

For the fourth year in a row, students were recognized for their fundraising efforts throughout the year that benefited Conemaugh Health System’s greatest patient needs. This year, 10 local schools raised over $22,000 for the Conemaugh Health Foundation. Three of the schools, Greater Johnstown, Westmont and Meyersdale were recognized for outstanding philanthropic efforts since the program’s inception placing each school on the Foundation’s “Guardian Circle” Recognition Wall located in the Atrium of Memorial Medical Center. This year’s fundraising efforts provided support for our Cancer Care Center, Aloysia Hall, Hospice, and Operation Family Caregiver.

"These students continue to have a tremendous impact in our efforts to support our greatest patient needs within the Conemaugh Health System," says Deborah Price, Conemaugh Health Foundation. "Donations are needed to take care of our ever expanding patient services throughout the System. The generosity of these students and their schools truly highlights the wonderful intentions of our younger community supporters for the future of local healthcare."

Students from elementary school to college participated in this year’s fundraising efforts including students from Greater Johnstown High School, Cambria-Rowe Business College, St. Andrew’s Catholic School, Bishop Carroll High School, Meyersdale School District, Conemaugh Valley High School, Conemaugh Township High School, Forest Hills High School, Westmont Hilltop High School, and United Area High School.
