Conemaugh Health System and the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra (JSO) held a press conference on Friday October 19, 2012 at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Atrium to announce a two-year partnership.

Conemaugh Health System joins the ranks of others who support the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra in the category of Leadership Sponsors.  Other Leadership Sponsors for the 2012-2013 season include Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Somerset Trust Company, and AmeriServ and AmeriServ Financial.

“The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra Board of Trustees could not be more pleased with how the leadership of Conemaugh Health System has responded to the JSO’s new strategic approach towards Leadership Sponsorships with larger local companies,” says Bill Locher, JSO Board President. “These Leadership Sponsorships enable the corporate sponsor to make one annual gift to the JSO in exchange for a customized package of benefits to the sponsor that accrue throughout the entire season. The Conemaugh Health System partnership is especially important because it provides for a multi-year funding commitment to the JSO, better enabling the JSO to plan ahead for programming, community outreach initiatives and music education.”

“We strongly believe that cultural organizations like the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra promote a much healthier and more vibrant community,” says James Hargreaves, Conemaugh Health System Board of Directors. “The value of JSO goes far beyond just the concerts, providing a cultural centerpiece for our community that helps us recruit physicians, staff and new businesses. We also look forward to partnering on “Arts for Healing” efforts using music as a tool to sooth, encourage and inspire those facing health related challenges.”
