Because of its size, geographic reach and depth of services, Memorial Medical Center (MMC) serves a very diverse patient population. Attracting patients across six counties, its services include a Level I trauma center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services and cardiothoracic program (named four times a Top 100 heart programs).
As a result, AOA Family Practice residents gain exceptional inpatient and outpatient experiences that prepare them for careers in primary care or for additional specialty training. Our dually accredited program sets the stage for residents to obtain certification from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and American Board of Family Medicine after successfully completing their studies and board examinations.
As a member of one of the largest health systems in western Pennsylvania, MMC offers extensive training opportunities that enable residents to follow patients through every stage of care. Our expansive network of physician offices and outpatient centers, as well as our award-wining inpatient services, provide a true continuum and instill in our residents the sense that efforts must be coordinated each step of the way to achieve the highest levels of patient care.
