Course Director: Jeanne Spencer, MD, Director, Family Medicine Residency Program
The Family Medicine rotation offers elective or required clerkships in Family Medicine in which students are assigned to the Family Medical Center, a 10,000 sq. ft. model unit located in MMC. The overall rotation goal is to provide an understanding of the broad field of Family Medicine as the model of primary care, as well as to promote an awareness of the importance of continuous, comprehensive, coordinated and concerned care for families and patients of all age groups. Students are given patient care responsibilities under the supervision of Family Medicine residents and attending physicians in the ambulatory settings, as well as following inpatients admitted to the Family Medicine service of the hospital.
