Thank you for your interest in the ACGME General Surgery Residency Program at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center (MMC).

As you read on, you will see how our fully accredited program successfully combines the most advanced surgical techniques and procedures with personalized instruction.  Backed by the resources of Conemaugh Health System, our residents gain invaluable experience through Conemaugh Memorial’s Level I trauma center and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, as well as its nationally recognized maternity, cardiac, pulmonary, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery programs.

The depth of Conemaugh Memorial's programs and services means that our residents also gain exceptional educational benefits typically associated with large urban academic medical centers. Yet the smaller size of our program allows them to fully focus on their profession, from basic general surgery procedures to the latest in minimally invasive surgical techniques. As a result, upon graduation our residents are well trained and prepared for competitive surgical appointments and fellowships across the country.

Our residents and faculty enjoy and command the greatest respect from the medical community, earned through their strong sense of commitment and dedication to excellence in patient care.  I encourage you to take a few minutes to explore this site and learn more about our program and its faculty, curriculum, research opportunities and resident benefits.  If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at rdumire@conemaugh.org or 814-534-1660.

Thank you for your consideration. Please accept my best wishes for a successful search.
