An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat, but is not the same as an irregular heart rate. A normal heart rate is 50 to 100 beats per minute.

 Warning Signs and Symptoms

  • Palpitations
  • Skipped beats 
  • Fluttering
  • Slow Heartbeat - Bradycardias
  • Rapid Heartbeat - Tachycardias
  • Poor exercise tolerance
  • Almost fainting - Presyncope
  • Fainting - Syncope

Some arrhythmias are harmless. Others can be life-threatening.
