An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat, but is not the same as an irregular heart rate. A normal heart rate is 50 to 100 beats per minute.
Warning Signs and Symptoms
- Palpitations
- Skipped beats
- Fluttering
- Slow Heartbeat - Bradycardias
- Rapid Heartbeat - Tachycardias
- Poor exercise tolerance
- Almost fainting - Presyncope
- Fainting - Syncope
Some arrhythmias are harmless. Others can be life-threatening.
