The first paramedic class was completed in July of 1977 just weeks prior to the 1977 Johnstown flood. This was the third natural disaster to strike the Greater Johnstown area and the first response by a new skilled EMS team. Throughout the years, Johnstown has shown that we are capable of providing medical care with the same quality and efficiency as a larger city.
Since 1977, the parademic program has undergone numerous changes with the advancement of medical technology and equipment. This ensures that students are receiving the very best education for their profession and allowing quality emergency medical care close to home.
Our program participates in national projects and studies which allows our students to help grow the EMS profession.
