This Heartsaver (lay rescuer) class teaches anyone who wants to be prepared how to respond to emergencies and provide care until advanced medical care arrives.
Included is a step by step approach on what to do for an Adult, child or infant cardiopulmonary emergency, including a comprehensive description and demonstration section on how to perform CPR for the Adult, child or infant age group. We will review how to recognize the signs and symptoms of choking, varying levels of choking and their respective treatment. A brief introduction to the AED (Automated External Defibrillator), the importance of this life-saving device and how to operate one is also included.
This class meets the American Heart Association standards.
This 3 hour class is held at various dates and times throughout the year in the Myron C. Williams Conference Room. There is a $35 charge.
