One donor can save the lives of patients awaiting heart, liver, lung or pancreas transplants.
One organ, tissue and eye donor may save up to eight lives and help more the 50 people.
One donor can give sight to two people through the donation of corneas.
Grief can be a long and painful journey. Remembering and honoring loved ones may ease some of the grief family and friends may experience. In honor of Conemaugh Health System’s organ, eye and tissue donors, a recognition wall has been constructed at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center (MMC) to commemorate and honor the selfless gifts of life. The recognition wall is located on the third floor of the Clinical Pavilion Atrium by the glass elevators.
The wall holds 18 photos of recent donors. The photos on the wall will be changed out from time to time and plans are in the works for a Phase II wall which will permanently display each donor's name. If you would like to make a contribution to help fund the wall, you may mail a check to Conemaugh Health Foundation, Organ, Eye and Tissue Donor Wall, 1086 Franklin Street, Johnstown, PA 15905 or by calling 814-534-3133.
If you have questions about this wall you can email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
