William Carney, MD, FACS
Specialty: General Surgery 814-539-8725
Dr. Carney is board certified in General Surgery with a special interest in hernia surgery. He brings more than 20 years of surgical experience to the practice. He earned his medical doctorate from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Carney has served in several hospital leadership positions, including as President of the Medical Staff and as a member of the Conemaugh Health System Board of Directors. He also serves as Chairman of MMC’s Division of General Surgery. In addition to caring for patients at Memorial Medical Center (MMC), Dr. Carney also sees patients at the Miners Community Health Center, Carrolltown, PA.
D’Arcy Duke, MD, FACS

Dr. Duke is board certified in General Surgery. She earned her medical doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Boston Medical Center before returning to Johnstown. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and completed a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery at UPMC. She is also the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery at Memorial Medical Center.
Russell Dumire, MD, FACS

Dr. Dumire earned his medical doctorate at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He is double board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care with a special interest in endocrine surgery. After his residency at Wright State University, he completed a Fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care at UPMC. He serves as Medical Director of the Trauma Program, Director of the Surgical Residency Program at Memorial Medical Center and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Patrick Gatmaitan, MD

Dr. Gatmaitan received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (Magna Cum Laude) and his medical doctorate, graduating Cum Laude, from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. He completed an internship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2002 before he did his General Surgery Residency at Memorial Medical Center. While a fellow at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. Gatmaitan received the 2009 Karl Storz Endoscopy-America Bariatric Surgery Fellow Scholarship Award, which recognizes the outstanding achievement in research by one Fellow each year in the area of bariatric surgery. Dr. Gatmaitan was honored for his research on the effects of insulin secretion following gastric bypass surgery. He also serves as faculty for Memorial’s General Surgery Residency.
S. Lee Miller, MD, FACS

Dr. Miller is double board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He received his medical doctorate from the University of California at Davis and later completed post-doctoral training at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Service Systems. He is the Director of Trauma Services at Memorial Medical Center and Medical Director for the Center of Organ Recovery and Education in Pittsburgh. Dr. Miller is a member of the Fellow of American College of Surgeons.
Bhaskaran Murali, MD, FACS

Dr. Murali is board certified in General Surgery. He is a senior member of the Conemaugh Valley Surgeons, bringing decadesof experience to every patient he cares for. He received a Master’s Degree in General Surgery and a Medical Doctorate at Madras University and completed his residency at Memorial Medical Center. Throughout his career, he has been an active member of several hospital, community and professional organizations. In addition to caring for patients at Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Murali also provides surgical care at Miners Medical Center, Hastings, PA.
Timothy O’Donnell, MD, FACS, FASCRS

Dr. O’Donnell is double board certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. He earned his medical doctoratefrom Georgetown University. He completed his residency at Tulane University and a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgeryat Baylor University Medical Center. He comes to Conemaugh Valley Surgeons after five years of private surgical practice in Ohio.
