Prepared Childbirth Class
Expectant parents can attend four two-hour classes to learn more about their pregnancy and what to expect during labor and delivery. Classes are held Tuesdays/Wednesdays of every month from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Obstetrics Conference Room, 5th Floor, Clinical Pavilion, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Main Campus.
Expectant mothers will be scheduled for the 4-week class the month before they are due. Moms can choose either a Tuesday or Wednesday night class. (Monday classes are offered in November in place of Decemeber classes). Class events are outlined with a confirmation of attendance letter.
Breastfeeding
This three-hour class is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about breastfeeding. This course is offered the first Thursday of every month from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Obstetrics Conference Room, 5th Floor, Clinical Pavilion, Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Main Campus. Breastfeeding class topics include:

- Anatomy and physiology
- Preparation for breastfeeding
- Getting started
- Proper positioning
- Latch on
- Common problems
- Infant hydration
