When your baby arrives in the RICN, diagnostic studies and treatment begin immediately. Many times, a newborn's organs are not mature enough to sustain life. It may, therefore, become necessary to intervene with a host of life-support systems until the baby gains enough strength to survive without help.
Some of this equipment may be unfamiliar and perhaps frightening to you. When you visit the RICN, the nurse will explain each piece of equipment and its purpose.
Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to. We're here to help you and your baby get the care and support you both need.
