Meyersdale Medical Center has developed several security measures to ensure the safety and well being of its patients and visitors. Security representatives conduct regular campus patrols and monitor all portions of the building.
The team also monitors all after-hours activity. Any person requiring access to the hospital after regular business and visiting hours must enter through the emergency entrance.
As a member of the Cambria/Somerset Disaster Task Force, Meyersdale Medical Center has trained several hospital employees in bioterrorism safety and security measures. In addition, attendance at monthly programs helps keep staff updated and prepared for crisis situations.
