Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation program helps residents recover from strokes, joint replacements, amputations, heart attacks and other medical conditions that require strengthening. Our goal is to help residents reclaim independence, and return home as quickly and safely as possible.

In addition to skilled nurses, our experienced rehabilitation team includes physical, occupational and speech therapists who work with physicians to design a customized treatment plan for each resident. Treatment goals include:

  • Recovering speech, language and swallowing functions
  • Improving physical function
  • Easing the pain resulting from injury or disease
  • Improving the ability to perform daily activities to achieve independent and satisfying lives; this may include training in the use of adaptive equipment

Residents participate in a combination of rehabilitation care for three hours per day.  Although it varies by individual, most residents receiving rehabilitation services are discharged to their place of residence within 21 to 30 days.
