Every member of Memorial's 19-person security team is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Training Curriculum. Their extensive training prepares them for our security detail and offers peace of mind to our customers.
Services are varied and include:
- campus patrols
- emergency car maintenance services, such as accidents, lock-outs or jump-starts
- accompanying patients, visitors or employees to their vehicles after regular visiting hours or whenever necessary
- policy enforcement
- traffic control
- campus access, including after-hours admittance through the Emergency Department and a state-of-the-art security system in place in our obstetrics unit
As part of the Cambria/Somerset Disaster Task Force, the team has received extensive training in the latest bioterrorism safety and security measures. It stands as the most equipped and experienced hospital-based bioterrorism unit in the region.
In addition, our Security Department uses many new technologies to monitor and manage campus activity. Our advanced equipment allows us to respond quickly and appropriately to any safety or security matter.
