President, Conemaugh Miners Medical Center



William R. Crowe was named the president of Miners Medical Center in 2005. He is responsible for providing strategic direction for the medical center and leadership for all aspects of hospital operations. Mr. Crowe is also responsible for setting policy direction and developing business relationships with physicians and the leaders of the communities served by the medical center.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Crowe served as Chief Financial Officer of Conemaugh Health Initiatives, Vice President of Financial Operations at Memorial Medial Center and Director of Financial Operations at Memorial Medical Center. He was previously employed by Quorum Health Group, a major provider of hospital management services, as a Chief Financial Officer in hospitals managed by Quorum. Prior to that, Mr. Crowe served in a variety of finance and operating positions in healthcare and manufacturing. He is a veteran of the United States Army Medical Corps, attaining the rank of sergeant, primarily serving with the First U.S. Cavalry Division.

Mr. Crowe graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelors of Arts in Business and Economics. He also received a Masters of Business Administration from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Mr. Crowe is a certified compliance Executive, awarded by the Health Ethics Trust.

Mr. Crowe is currently involved in a variety of professional and community activities. He is an advanced member of the HealthCare Financial Managers Association and a member of the American College of HealthCare Executives. He is a member of the board of the Cambria-Somerset Council for Healthcare Professional Education and the Alumni Association Board of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where he is on the executive committee. Mr. Crowe is a member of the Accounting Alumni Advisory Board of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and also serves on the Education Committee of the Health Ethics Trust, Alexandria, Va.  He is also a coach in local youth baseball leagues.

In his spare time, Mr. Crowe enjoys camping, genealogy research and activities with his family.
