Dr. Savas Mavridis MD, FACS

Dr. Mavridis is board-certified by both the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and is a graduate of CMMC’s General Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Mavridis also completed a residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he continued to serve as Instructor Fellow for one year. He is a published author and accomplished lecturer. Dr. Mavridis returned to Johnstown in 2003 where he specializes in heart, chest and lung surgeries with emphases on off-pump cardiac surgery, valve repair and replacement, complex lung resections, as well as Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) and esophageal surgery. Dr. Mavridis has vast experience in rhythm device implantation.
