Full, part-time and hourly employees can participate in our benefits plan. Highlights include:

Health Insurance  
Coverage to assist employees and dependents in cost of medical services and prescription drugs.
Full-time, part-time and hourly employees can participate.

Dental Insurance
Coverage to assist employees and dependents in cost of dental services, including an orthodontia option.  Full-time, part-time and hourly employees can participate.

Vision Insurance  
Coverage to assist employees and dependents in cost of vision exams and corrective lenses.  full-time, part-time and hourly employees can participate.

Life/AD&D Insurance (Term Life)
Coverage to assist employees in an amount equal to your annual salary.  Full-time employees may opt down to $10,000 level and receive Flex Credits.

Optional Life Insurance/AD&D (Term Life) 
Additional Insurance in an amount equal to 1x, 2x or 3x your annual salary.    Part-time employees may purchase $10,000 in life insurance.

Dependent Life Insurance (Term Life)
Insurance coverage of $5,000 for spouse and $2,500 for each dependent child.  Part-time employees must have Optional Life Insurance to participate.

Supplemental Life Insurance (Whole Life) 
Additional insurance coverage at low rates for you and your family members.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
Health Care Spending Account AND Dependent Care Spending Accounts available. 

Short-Term Disability
Income protection for non-job-related injury or illness.  Benefit replaces 60% of employees base salary.  Hospital pays premium for FT and PT employees.  Hourly employees are not eligible.

Long-Term Disability
Income protection for non-job-related injury or illness.  Benefit replaces 50% of employee's base salary.  Hospital pays premium for full-time employees.  60% enhancement to this benefit available.  Part-time and hourly employees are not eligible.

Cancer, Catastrophic Illness and Long Term Care Insurance 
Access to coverage to assist employee with the expense of catastrophic illnesses.

Section 125C Plan
All eligible benefit premium share and FSA contributions are deducted from income on a pre-tax basis.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Memorial Medical Center provides for planned and unplanned absences by providing the paid time off benefit plans. Through PTO, payment for time away from work is at regular straight-time pay.  Eligibility is as follows:

  • 1-4 years of full-time service - 15 days
  • 5-7 years of full-time service - 20 days
  • 8 years & over of full-time service - 25 days

Additional PTO days are accrued for employees with 20+ years of service.  Exempt employees begin accruing 20 days upon Date of Hire and 25 days at four years of service.  PTO is prorated for part-time employees at 1-4 year level.  Hourly employees are not eligible.

Other paid time off benefits include:

  • Military Duty Leave 

Legal Holidays
Full-time employees have six paid holidays per year; part-time employees have three.  Hourly employees are not eligible. Employees paid at time and one half if scheduled to work on day of holiday.

Retirement Plans

  • Cash Balance Plan (Employer Contribution Only):  Employees with five years of credited service are vested in this plan.
  • Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plan:  Employee contributions, which are exempt from federal taxes until distribution is received.  MetLife Resources administers the plan, which includes mutual funds and a fixed interest annuity contract.  Immediate vesting in all monies contributed to this plan.

Transit Benefit
Allows pretax deduction for work related parking expense both on and off campus and public transportation expense (bus, taxi, etc.)

Health Service  
Complete physical exam in Memorial's Employee Health Office. Work-related first aid available.
   
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Professional counseling, information and referral as needed.

Social Security  
Financial assistance at retirement and in case of total disability.

Payroll Savings
Payroll deduction for regular savings through U.S. Savings Bonds and Credit Union.

Direct Deposit  
Automatic deposit of your paycheck in the bank of your choice - required of all new employees.

Credit Union
Members are eligible for loans at low interest rates (automatic payroll deduction).

Wellness Center
Fitness center, exercise, weight reduction and other services are available at our on-site Wellness Center. It is open 24 hours to MMC employees and spouses who pay a minimal monthly membership fee.
