Home > Services > Behavioral Health: Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia and causes difficulties with memory, thinking and behavior. The disease develops slowly and worsens over time, often causing interference with daily tasks. There is no cure for the disease, but symptoms can be treated and managed.

After physician assessment and evaluation, the psychiatric team can identify patients who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Depending on the severity of symptoms associated with the disease, patients may be recommended for admission to the inpatient unit.
