Dietary Services

Carol Vranich, Conemaugh Memorial - Lee Campus Dietary, has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. A self-proclaimed smoker of 25 years, Carol has been smoke-free since September 28, 2012. “I wanted to stop smoking for a few years and just didn’t do it. I knew the organization was going smoke free in 2013 and decided that now was the time to stop,” says Carol. She joined the Smoking Cessation class offered by Conemaugh and enjoys listening to stories from the other class members. “The Smoking Cessation class is great! I highly recommend it. You hear similar stories to your own and realize you’re not alone. It’s frustrating at times to stop smoking, but the group really helped me out.” Carol has found support from her husband and children, but also from her co-workers, namely her manager
Edie Durant who also stopped smoking recently. “The hardest part is just doing it -- getting started and sticking with it. You can get urges that set you back, so a support system is vital,” says Carol. “I feel healthier and I’m sleeping better.” Carol has been an employee of Conemaugh for 14 years.

Congratulations, Carol! We're proud of you!
