Amanda J. Ellis, DO

Amanda Ellis DO FM

Dr. Ellis, Homer City native, attended Drexel University for her Bachelors of Science in Biology followed by the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Ellis was a bench scientist in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Ellis is excited to return to the local area and join the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center team. “I grew up in the area and had an amazing experience on all of my fourth year clerkships,” says Dr. Ellis. “This is an excellent hospital where people are happy and strive for exceptional care every day.” Dr. Ellis enjoys raising her two children and spending time outdoors.

Branka McCarthy, DO
Branka McCarthy DO FM


Dr. McCarthy is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. She attended the University of Pittsburgh followed by medical school at the Lake Eric College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie. She was attracted to Conemaugh Memorial for the opportunities for education. “I decided to come to Conemaugh because it is an excellent teaching hospital that incorporates great patient care, teamwork and compassion to make each patient feel cared for,” she says. Dr. McCarthy enjoys tennis, kayaking, hiking and outdoor activities.

Zinat N. Maniky, MD
Zinat Maniky MD FM


Dr. Maniky is from New York City. She attended the State University of New York at Albany followed by the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine in Mexico. Previously, she was an Medical Instructor at an Allied Health School and Clinical Staff at Family Medicine Clinic, both located in New York City. “I appreciate the program’s emphasis on primary care and the comprehensive approach in maintaining the health and welfare of the community,” says Dr. Maniky about joining the Conemaugh Memorial team. “The program offers a supportive and nurturing environment with a priority on professionalism and providing the best quality care to all. Johnstown is a friendly and safe town that has the amenities of a big city, and is complemented by its wondrous natural beauty.” Dr. Maniky is a certified yoga instructor and is a self-proclaimed arts and sports enthusiast.

Abegail E. Paner, MD
Abegail Paner MD FM


Dr. Paner is a Glendora, CA native. She attended the University of California – Riverside followed by medical school at St. Christopher College of Medicine. She has completed as Post-Doctoral Research Immunology Fellowship at Georgetown University in DC. During this time, she published several scientific articles and abstracts for the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). She is a recipient of the Dr. Harold J. Goald Research Achievement Award of the International center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology. “What attracted me the most to Conemaugh is its high quality institution that is nationally recognized and well-respected in the Pennsylvania region,” says Dr. Paner. “I was highly impressed by how much the attendings and staff take a vested interest in the growth of the residents and in honing our skills to be successful and compassionate family practioners.” Dr. Paner enjoys traveling, photography, reading, yoga, exploring the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.


Prerana B. Patel, MD
Prerana Patel MD FM


Dr. Prerana Patel is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat India. She attended B. J. Medical College in Ahmedabad and completed a OB-GYN Residency in India. She was previously a Program Coordinator for a School Health Program in which she examined children for common diseases including vitamin deficiency, malnutrition and anemia. Dr. Patel was attracted to Conemaugh Memorial because of the established educational foundation. “I find the program has solid infrastructure made up of dedicated attendings that will be a crucial aspect to success in my residency.” Dr. Patel enjoys cooking, gardening and watching movies.

Ravish M. Patel, MD
Ravish Patel MD FM


Dr. Ravish Patel is a native of Westchester County, NY. He attended the University of Rochester followed by medical school at St. George’s University. “I felt that Conemaugh Memorial would provide the training to enable me to become a better physician,” says Dr. Patel. “Conemaugh Memorial provides a wide range of clinical exposure as well as close faculty interaction making it an ideal place to learn. Everyone I have met has been so friendly, helpful and committed to patient care thus creating a wonderful work environment.” Dr. Patel enjoys graphic design, community service and rooting for his favorite New York sports teams.
