Mammography can show changes in breast tissue up to two years before a patient or physician can feel them. * Mammograms lead to early detection when treatment is most effective and cancer is curable.
The American Cancer Society, American Medical Association, and the American College of Radiology recommend screening mammography every year for women beginning at age 40. Women who have had breast cancer and those with a family history of the disease should speak with their physician for screening recommendations. Studies show less than half of the women who should be having yearly mammography screenings are actually doing so. Make yearly screening a priority!
Our staff all hold specialty certification in mammography. They also have many years of experience and are dedicated to providing patients with a comfortable and pleasant exam.
Physicians who are specially trained to interpret radiology examinations provide the reading of each mammogram. All of our radiologists are board certified and have additional certification to interpret mammograms.
