Conemaugh Health System Art Contest Winners Announced

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Conemaugh Health System promoted this important initiative with help from some of its youngest supporters.

Conemaugh Health System’s Breast Cancer Awareness Committee organized its first annual “Honoring the Women in Our Lives” Art Contest, featuring art work by youth family members of Conemaugh employees. The art work in on display at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Main Campus Atrium until the end of the month of October, and is open to the public.

The winners are as follows:

1st Place

Ages 0-5: Isaac Roberts, 9 months, is the son of Stacy Roberts from the Marketing Communications Department.

Ages 6-12: Marlie Mangold, 7 years, is the granddaughter of Rhonda Hoffman from the Environmental Department.

Ages 13-17: Ryan Kniss, 17 years, is the son of Kimberly Kniss, an RN from Good Sam 6.

2nd Place

Ages 0-5: Cambryn Ambrocik, 4 years, is the daughter of Mike Ambrocik from the Emergency Room.

Ages 6-12: Brynn Hyland, 6 years, is the daughter of Marisa Hyland from the Radiology Department.

Ages 13-17: Haylee Beamer, 13 years is the granddaughter of Dorothy Beamer from the Food and Nutrition Department.

3rd Place

Ages: 0-5: Karter McCall, 5 years, is the great nephew of Lisa Blough from the Lab.

Ages 6-12: Morgan Kush, 12 years is the step daughter of David Rosendale from the IT Department.

Ages 13-17: Zoey Harline, 14 years, is the niece of Kara Bills from Patient Access and the granddaughter of Rebecca John from the X-Ray Department.

Most Creative

Shawn Williams, 11 years, is the great nephew of Lisa Blough from the Lab.

Best Showcase of Breast Cancer Awareness

Ryan Kniss, 17 years, is the son of Kimberly Kniss, an RN from Good Sam 6.

“This is a fun way to get kids involved in promoting breast cancer awareness and showcasing their talent,” says Morgan Roberts, Employee Wellness Assistant and Breast Cancer Awareness Committee member. “It’s important that women and their families are not only informed about how to treat breast cancer, but more importantly how to take preventative steps and detect it early.”

The art contest was coordinated by Madison Nick and Samantha Makin, Marketing Communications interns, and both business students at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
