October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Conemaugh Health System is promoting this important initiative with help from some of its youngest supporters.
Conemaugh Health System’s Breast Cancer Awareness Committee organized its first annual “Honoring the Women in Our Lives” Art Contest, featuring art work by youth family members of Conemaugh employees. The art work will be on display at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center’s Main Campus Atrium throughout the month of October, and is open to the public.
To determine the winners of the art contest, employees and the general public are encouraged to vote for their favorites! There is no fee to vote. There are two ways to vote:
Winners will be announced via Conemaugh’s Facebook page and website, www.conemaugh.org.redesign.in10sitybeta.net, on Monday, October 10.
“This is a fun way to get kids involved in promoting breast cancer awareness and showcasing their talent,” says Morgan Roberts, Employee Wellness Assistant and Breast Cancer Awareness Committee member. “It’s important that women and their families are not only informed about how to treat breast cancer, but more importantly how to take preventative steps and detect it early.”
The art contest is being coordinated by Madison Nick and Samantha Makin, Marketing Communications interns, and both business students at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
